First Day Of School For Erika And Her SistersA Chapter by Noah Wayverlynn
"Girls, it's time to get up for school. you have a big day today since it's your first day of second grade." Raquelle says as she turns on the light in her daughters' room. The girls turn away to cover their faces from the light, but their mother, dressed in a pink top with blue jeans, removes the blankets from the bed. "Ok mom! we'll get out of bed!" the girls respond with an angry tone. As Raquelle helps her children get ready, Todd walks into the room. "Hey babe, need any help getting the kids ready? I can help get their shoes on, and I can help pack their snacks for snack time." Raquelle nods in response to Todd as she helps the kids. As Erika finishes breakfast and tries to be a good leader for her sisters, Lacey does the opposite and climbs back in bed. "Lacey Dawn! It's not bedtime. get up!" Todd says as Raquelle and Rapunzel head downstairs. the youngest daughter in the family, Melody Rose, is following Erika's actions. Todd's family is poor, and they struggle to make enough money to live on, so they borrow money from a wealthy artist named Tia Rose. Ms. Rose helps the Aberdeen family with financial situations and helps pay for schooling for the kids. Tia has three daughters she adopted right after college, and the Aberdeen kids are best friends with them. "Selena wait up!" the girls yell out as they see her run out of the house. Grace and Hope run after the five girls, and finally catch up with them. "Thank you for slowing down for us." They said as they stop real quick to catch their breath. Since the Aberdeen family is so poor, the kids have to walk to school. Despite being a wealthy family, Tia's daughters volunteer to walk the Aberdeen kids to school every day to make sure they get there safely. Tia pays her daughters for doing good deeds like that, and she has formed an allowance system for her daughters to earn money when they are only second graders. "Here we are!" Tia's girls exclaim. "We're at Cloud Elementary school." Selena says. As they enter the school, A teacher with long black hair, blue jeans, and pink top approaches them. "Hello girls. You must be new to this school. I'm Sarah Basu. I am the principal of this school. Come right in." she says as the Rose kids head off to their classes so they can get ready for the day. "I will show you to your classroom now. I am delighted that Tia Rose pitched in to help your parents Raquelle and Todd with paying for your education." As Sarah and the four kids head to the classroom, a teacher greets them in the cafeteria. "Hello Lacy, Erika, Melody, and Rapunzel. Welcome to Cloud Elementary School!" Shortly after, Sarah and the Aberdeen kids reach the classroom. "Excuse me Mr. Russo. you have four new students. Rapunzel, Lacey, Erika, and Melody." Noah Russo heads to the door to greet his new students, and thanks Sarah for guiding them there. "Thank you Sarah. Hello girls, I'm Mr. Russo and I'll be your teacher this school year. Would you please introduce yourselves to the class?" As Mr. Russo tells the class to listen up, Melody speaks up. "Hi my name is Melody Aberdeen, and my sisters and I are new to this school. I love listening to music while drawing. When I grow up, I want to become a sketch artist." As the class greets Melody, the other sisters introduce themselves. "Hey my name is Erika. I am the oldest out of the four of us here. I enjoy listening to music while painting all sorts of creative things. When I grow up, I am hoping to become an Artist or Art Teacher." "Hi my name is Lacey Aberdeen. I enjoy spending time with family and going out on walks to connect with nature. When I grow up, I want to become a psychologist so i can help people who are struggling in life." "What's up? My name is Rapunzel, and I enjoy spending time with family while listening to music. When I grow up, I want to be a DJ or a music producer so I can make music people will love." As the girls sit down, the class claps loudly. Mr. Russo finally stops the noise, and picks up where he left off before Mrs. Basu came in. A few hours passed, then it was finally lunch time. The kids were dismissed to get their lunch when a lunch supervisor calls their grade. There were two choices the kids had to choose from: Mashed potatoes and gravy with meatballs, or corn dog with fries. "Second graders you can get your lunch now!" Mr. Ray called out. After they got their lunch, the Aberdeen kids returned to their designated seats. "Hi my name is Phoenix. I heard you're one of the new students here this year. I am interested in listening to music, singing, and playing instruments. It's nice to meet you." a girl says to Rapunzel. "Hi it's nice to meet you Phoenix. My name is Rapunzel, and I am interested in anything related to music.." Shortly after their introductions, two girls also introduce themselves. "Hi my name is Jade, and you can also call me Jay. I am interested in anything related to music and art. I would like to be your friend." "Hello my name is Tori, and I would be delighted to be friends with you. I love music, art, and hanging out with people." A few minutes passed, and it was time to head back to class. "Oh it's time for class. gotta run. nice meeting you Rapunzel." the three girls exclaim as they wait in line to head back to their classrooms. As the day went on, Rapunzel couldn't think of anything other than the three nice girls she sat with at lunch. Once the day was finished, the Aberdeen kids walked back home with Tia's daughters. Rapunzel invited the three girls she talked to earlier to tag along, and they agreed. As Rapunzel's sisters talked to Selena and the other two girls, she stayed behind them to talk to her new friends. They were playing questions and answers to get to know each other. "Favorite color?" Jade asks with energy. "royal purple." Rapunzel replies. "Yellow." says Phoenix. "same for me." Tori responds. Once they reached the Aberdeen residence, the girls exchanged numbers so they could keep in touch. "Hey sweetie. how was school?" Todd asks as Rapunzel enters the house and closes the door behind her. "It was good. I made a few new friends today. their names are Phoenix, Tori, and Jade. They gave me their numbers so we could all hang out sometime." Todd claps cheerfully, and gives his daughter a high five. "That's awesome sweetie." Todd says with excitement. The four girls sit at the princess table that is set out for them. "Your mama Raquelle had to work late. She is doing the news tonight. We may be able to catch her if we turn the television on and set it to channel seventeen." The rest of the girls told their father how their first day went, and two of them said it didn't go too well. Melody and Rapunzel both had a great first day, but Lacey and Erika had a horrible first day. As three girls stayed to hang out with Todd, Erika ran upstairs to the bedroom and slammed the door. She flopped on her bed, and cried about her terrible day. Despite having a terrible day, Lacey stayed with the others to chat and have a good time. When Raquelle came home, Todd asks "Hey babe, can you please go upstairs and see what's wrong with Erika. I haven't seen her since she came home, and she usually stays down here to hang out." Todd's wife nods and heads up the stairs to check on Erika. "Erika. What's wrong bunny love? Is everything ok? We're all worried about you." she asks while turning on the light. "I don't want to talk about it. Get out!" Erika yells as she picks up her emoji pillow and throws it at her mother. Raquelle tries to restrain her troubled daughter, but Erika didn't give in. "Get out mom!" Erika yells even louder. "Fine, but don't expect to have dinner tonight." Mrs. Aberdeen warns her child. Arriving at the bottom of the stairs, Raquelle tells her husband what's going on. "She threw a pillow at me when I asked her what was wrong. She just wants be left alone." The family enjoys their night as Erika stays in the bedroom alone. Everyone hopes that the next day would go better for them, and they hoped that Erika would settle down by morning.
