Service Day at West Fargo High School 2016

Service Day at West Fargo High School 2016

"

To take a break from my book, I thought I would bring you a really good experience I had today. Hope you enjoy it.

Today is December 7, 2016, and the whole morning was dedicated to a service morning. Periods 2, 3, 4, and 5 were canceled for the service day, and some students got to miss their period 1 class. I am thankful that I got to miss Government and English today. My morning did not start off that well, I have to admit. My friend Zach and I got lost in the school, because we thought our group was in the music room, but then they weren't so we ended up walking around the whole school until we found them in the music room just where we thought. We went to the dance room with the group, and ended up waiting for awhile until the students came. I was so excited and I got paired up with two students. I honestly thought I did pretty well of looking after them and having them stay with me when they needed to. First we did the worksheet, and then we went down to the theater hallway and got to do a project. After we did the project, we got to go back to the dance room to dance along with Just Dance Kids. :) We did a few songs, but my favorite was Jingle Bells. I went crazy during "What Does the Fox Say" and I started singing along with it. At the end I reach the high note, and I was so surprised. When they were leaving, we gave them a West Fargo Packers bracelet. It was so fun, and that was the first time I have ever considered becoming a 4th grade teacher. If I did, I would probably be the 4th grade art teacher at a school that is in need of one. I don't know, because my visual impairment is the only thing that is getting in my way right now. If I can overcome that disability and do what I want to do, then it will not be too much of a problem. It was so amazing that we got to be paired up with 4th graders, because at first I had no idea what we were going to do for the service project. However, now it is time to get back to the normal schedule and attend our last 3 classes. I have gym, keyboarding, and field biology left for the day. I wish every day was like this where I only had to attend 3 classes, but that is all in my dreams.
