Working At Hot Topic

Five years passed, and the girls were now in their junior year at Rainbow High School. The year was 2022, and the technology was enhanced throughout the years. Vanessa now had long blonde hair that went down to her knees, and she had a tiara to hold it in place. She was tall and skinny, and she went from wearing extra large tops to medium tops. She was wearing a light blue top that read "Go Rainbow Charms!" and black pants. Her shoes were now a pair of Air Jordan shoes. Jade now had red hair that was a medium sized length, and it had glitter inside it. She had a black headband to hold it in place. She got a hair cut before the start of her junior year. She was wearing a black top that read the same thing as Vanessa's shirt read, but it had glitter on it. She was wearing blue jeans to bring out the look, and her shoes were bright orange sketchers. Rainbow Charms was the Rainbow High School teams, and there were various activities at the school that used the name. It was December 20th, and it was the last day of school at Rainbow High until Christmas break. Suddenly during their 4th hour class, there was an announcement "Attention all junior student! Please report to the theater on January 18th for an important meeting about your upcoming senior year! Check the News Stand in the lunchroom to get information on what time your meeting will be. Thank you, and have a good Christmas break! Go Rainbow Charms!" The bell rang a short time afterwards, and the girls were off to lunch. Jade and Vanessa had the same lunch period and study hall like they did in middle school, and they were in the same sign language class for 7th period. The girls were 17 years old now, and they had a smooth time at Rainbow High School so far. They were hoping that the rest of their high school career would stay that smooth. They were excited for Christmas break, because their friends Amanda and Janice were inviting the girls over for dinner after school. Amanda and Janice were sisters, and they asked their mom if they could invite Jade and Vanessa over. Their parents Danny and Alexis Matthews approved their request, and said "As long as you behave and do what we ask you to if we ask you to do something." Alexis and Danny had strict rules on Amanda and Janice, but the girls didn't mind because they knew it was to help them live a good life. Janice had a couple of classes with Vanessa, and Amanda had a few classes with Jade. Amanda and Janice met the girls when they were in middle school, and they became best friends after Jade invited the girls over for a sleepover. That night, Jade and Vanessa rode over to their friends' house on their bike. They knocked on the door, and Danny answered the door with a smile "Ahhh you must be Jade and Vanessa. My daughters were hoping you'd come tonight. Come on in." The girls arrived early, and dinner was not ready yet. "Girls! your friends are here!" Danny told them from the bottom of the stairs. "Hi Jade and Vanessa. Glad to have you here tonight. Feel free to sleep over tonight too if you want." Alexis exclaimed. After Jade and Vanessa replied to Alexis's statement, the girls took them upstairs to hang out. It was Amanda's birthday on the 22nd, so Mr. and Mrs. Matthews allowed the girls to stay over for two nights. The Matthews residence was a large house that was a single family home. It was a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house, and it had an upstairs section for the kids. Two bedrooms were on the first floor, and two other bedrooms were on the second floor. The first floor contained an open concept living room, Maddie's bedroom, a master bedroom, a pool with outdoor hangout areas, a garage, and a fireplace. The kitchen had an eat in area where the family could enjoy meals. The second floor contained a bedroom for both girls and a bathroom in each room. Alexis was Danny's only wife, and their love was pure and perfect. Alexis was tall, and she had long black hair. Her top was a In This Moment red shirt, and she had black sweats to go along with it. Danny was tall and skinny, but he was the same height as Alexis. He had a Panic at the disco top on with blue jeans. The Family formed their own band, and they called it Pure Darkness. The first floor also contained their band's studio and recording area. Alexis was the lead singer, Danny was the lead guitarist, Amanda was the Drummer, Janice was the bass guitarist, and Maddie was the Pianist. Maddie was in 5th grade, and she was really good at piano. A few minutes later, Alexis called everyone for dinner, and Maddie came storming out of her room. Hamburger hot dish was on the menu for that night, and that was Maddie's favorite food. As they ate, Vanessa starts up a conversation "So, did you come up with some new songs lately?" The Matthews nodded at Vanessa's question, and then Janice replies "Yes we did. Would you like to hear it after dinner?" Jade and Vanessa nodded as Mr. and Mrs. Matthews reply "We can perform it for you after dinner. Think of it as a private performance." Everyone claps as they finish their meals. Once everyone's dinner settled a little, they headed into the band room. "Hit it!" Alexis yells out to her band as Jade and Vanessa take their seats. The songs they performed we called "Just Get Away", "Make It Dark", "Tragedy is Beautiful", "Damaged Inside", "Into Darkness", and "Dark Love." Their professional recorder Toni was there recording them, because Danny called him over before they headed over to the band room. When they were done performing for the girls, Toni started making the recordings a CD. "Excuse me Alexis, would you like to make that your first album?" the recorder asked before they left the room. Everyone in the band agreed to do it, but they said "First let's have that as a demo for everyone to hear. If they like it, we can add more songs to it and then release it. We want to put at least 10 songs on each album." Toni nodded, and began his work. After they left Toni to do his work, Jade and Vanessa said "Hey we have to run out to some places real quick. We'll be back" The Matthews nodded and the two girls left to do what they needed to. After riding a few blocks, they stopped at Glitter Mall. Glitter Mall was a shopping center in Dreamville. Hot Topic was the first store on the left near the north side parking lot. The girls stopped there to get new clothes and some stuff they needed, and they were customers that visited every three weeks. Hot Topic was Jade and Vanessa's happy place besides their home, so they decided to apply for jobs there. "Welcome to Hot Topic. Is there anything I can help you with today?" a blue haired girl asked as the girls walked in. Jade steps up and says "Hi my name is Jade and this is Vanessa beside me. We are looking to apply for jobs here. Is there any way we could do that?" The girl responded to her, and said "Yes there is. would you like an application? we are hiring part time sales associates who are willing to help with customers here." They nodded, and the girl grabbed them both an application. After they bought a few things, The girls went out into the food court to fill them out while getting some drinks. As Vanessa reached in her bag for a pen, Jade stops her and says "Wait a second V." V was Vanessa's little nickname that only Jade called her. Jade snapped her fingers twice, and all of a sudden their applications were filled except for the signature part. "Ok. now all you have to do is your signature." Jade said with a smile The applications had their exact current information, and the girls would be ready to turn them in as soon as they left the mall. After the girls did a little more shopping, they stopped back at Hot Topic to return their applications. "Here are our applications." the girls said with excitement. "Well, that was quick. We will look over your application and determine if you qualify to join the team." The girl with blue hair siad. She was the store manager, and she knew what to do in every situation. "By the way, my name is Aurora." she said as the girls shook her hand. "Ok Aurora. Thank you so much." The girls said. When the girls left Glitter Mall, they had two more stops: home and Happy Life supermarket. After the girls went home to grab a change of clothes for the two days, they ran over to the supermarket to grab some important things. On Vanessa's phone, they had a list of what they needed, and on that list was birthday card, gift wrap, one bouquet of roses, and some ingredients for their Christmas party. Vanessa and Jade were inviting some friends for a Christmas party, so they wanted everything to be prepared. Once they finished their errands, the girls returned to the Matthews residence. Maddie was fast asleep in her room, and the other girls were in their room. Alexis and Danny were sitting on the couch listening to music for inspiration. "Guess what girls? We now have demo copies of our songs so we can give them out." They said at once. Jade and Vanessa agreed to take 18 of them to distribute to people. Rainbow High School and Magic Elementary School allowed distributions of products as long as they were appropriate and not violent, so the girls could take them and hand them out. Despite being in a band, Danny and Alexis had side jobs. Alexis was a secretary at Rainbow High School, and Danny was a music teacher at Magic Elementary. They got paid pretty well, and they loved their jobs. Mr. and Mrs. Matthews told their daughters to take some with them to school to hand out. Janice agreed to take 20 and Amanda agreed to take 28. Maddie agreed to take 14 with her to school. To help out, Danny and Alexis decided to take some to work too. Danny agreed to take 38 CD's while Alexis agreed to take the most which was 40. Everyone was excited about it, and they wanted to get themselves out there. Alexis offered Jade and Vanessa positions in the band, but they said "Maybe later, but thank you." All of a sudden the Lavender Town music from a Pokemon game rung out from Janice's room, and Danny ran up to stop the music. "Janice Hannah Matthews!!! what is that music? I told you not to listen to that stupid music." Janice cried as Danny turned the music off for her. He sat on the bed and hugged his daughter, and Janice wept "I don't know what happened. I was just playing Minecraft while listening to some of that music you and mom let me listen to, and all of a sudden that music started playing on that music website where I was listening to the approved music on." Janice was playing Minecraft on her Playstation 4, and listened to music on her black laptop. Danny refreshed the page on Janice's laptop, but the music started playing again after a few songs of what the girls were allowed to listen to. "Janice, Let's work this out and see if there is an alternative website you can listen to music on. This website seems like a weird on, and after this we are not allowing you to visit that website anymore. From now on, listen to music on this video website called Dream Pride. That one won't start playing music we don't approve unexpectedly and it's safer for you and your sisters." Dream Pride was a private website where they could watch videos and listen to music. It was a safe website for the girls to visit, and there we no unexpected pop-ups over disapproved music. On Dream Pride, people have to make an account and a parent had to create playlists of approved contents if the user was under 18. "okay." Janice said as she wiped her tears away. As she continued to play Minecraft, her dad created her an account on Dream Pride. After Danny created Janice's account on the website, he made a playlist of approved music for her and started playing it for her. Before he went onto Dream Pride, he went into the settings of the computer and blocked the website his daughter was using. "Okay it's all set up for you, and I blocked the website you were using so that this doesn't happen again." he said as he left the room. Janice nodded as she battled with an zombie on the game. "What was that all about?" Alexis asked with a concerned look as she put down her book. "Oh Janice was trying to listen to music on a website, and a pop-up with that music kept appearing when trying to refresh the website or exit out of the pop up when it appeared." Danny replied. Alexis wanted to see what Danny was talking about, and Danny showed her on their Smart TV. Jade and Vanessa ran upstairs while the music was playing, so that didn't hear it. "that is a good website, but I don't understand why they would do that to their users." Alexis said. The good website was turning into a bad website, and the Matthews wanted to stop others from using it to help out. They asked the person who owned the website, but the owner did not know why that was going on. Mrs. Matthews also called some other places to report the website and to have it taken down. As she blocked the website on her computer, Alexis told her husband "I really love listening to music there, but I wonder why this is happening. I wish that this wouldn't have happened, because nothing like this happened before." She stopped her music since it was on that mysteriously bad website, and she started listening to music on Dream Pride. The night after, Jade and Vanessa both got a call from Hot Topic asking them if they could go in for interviews next week. The girls agreed, and set up their interview for an hour apart from each other. It was exciting to know that they were taking the next step in the process. An hour after Vanessa and Jade got their call, Alexis got a call for one of the places she called in about that one website that was being mysterious. "Thank you Alexis for letting us know about that website. It is now taken down so now one can access it. Sorry to hear that you had that experience with the website." Yes! the website was taken down, and the Matthews family was so relieved. A week later, Vanessa and Jade went in for their interviews. After Jade got done with her interview, she told Vanessa about it "Guess what Vanessa? I got hired! :)" Vanessa gave Jade a high five, and said "Let's see how I do." When Vanessa finished her interview, it was the same result for her. They were both hired for the positions, and they were proud. They were both starting work on January 2nd. "Yes! now we have a job." They said together as they headed home. When they got home, the girls sat down and turned on a CD that the Matthews family gave them a week before. To celebrate, they went to a concert their favorite band was putting on at Spring Arena. Befoe they knew it, the girls were on a road to success.
