Family Visit

In this chapter, Demetrah and Maybell get a visit from Demetrah's family. This chapter is told from Demetrah's perspective so you get to see how she felt throughout the chapter.

As Maybell and I arose on the morning of December 23rd, we heard a knock at the door. Here it was a girl from our school coming to visit. Arizona was at home enjoying herself, so it wasn't her. "Hello?" Maybell asked the girl. "Hello is this the residence of Demetrah and Maybell?" the girl asked us with a warm smile. "Yes it is" Maybell and I said together. The girl said "Hello. My name is Vienna. I heard you girls go to my school. May I come in?" Maybell approves Vienna's request. "My name is Maybell, and this is Demetrah." Maybell exclaims with excitement. I asked Vienna if she wanted to shake my hand, and she said yes. Maybell reminded her that I was blind, so Vienna was saying to me "My hand is out in from of you. just reach foreword, and you'll find it." I reached out and shook her hand. Vienna continues "I would like to be friends with you girls. You sound cool." The conversation took an hour, and then she left. We spent most of our day in silence, but then finally my family called to notify us that they were here. With a warm voice of excitement, my sisters hugged me really tight. I had 4 sisters: Ava, Jenna, Miranda, and Juana. My two brothers Jonas and Casey were too busy playing Minecraft, that they didn't know where they were. I could tell they were busy playing Minecraft by the way my mother Nina had to talk to them. Nina was saying to my brothers "Please stop playing Minecraft for right now. We are visiting your sister Demi. She's here in West Fargo, because I thought she would like to experience different things." My brothers ran and gave me a huge hug. My mother starts telling me that my father Ben had to stay home because he had work the next day. My dad worked as a police officer, and he was on duty a lot. "guess who else we brought with us. We brought your aunt Nikki, Your grandmother Celina, your grandfather Preston, and your uncle Dylan." Everyone came to give Maybell and I a huge family hug. I felt so wonderful that I just wanted to sing and dance. By the time we got done chatting, it was already getting late so Aunt Nikki said "Hey girls, we better get to the hotel. It is getting late. We'll see you in the morning." We both said ok, and we went to sleep after they left. It was a great day for Maybell and I. Now it was time to go to be, and get some rest.
