Building a Wall

Building a Wall

A Poem by Working Class Scarecrow
"

resentment and love seem to go hand in hand... the aftermath of a marriage that never went through legally.

"

see, it's not that i'm making accusations,
it's that i'm running scenarios.
contemplating possible causes.
dwelling on dead disections of time
unable to decipher decisions
based on the decomposed corpes of  moments gone by
improperly preserved due to the lack of chronological fermaldahide.

and you'll still twist the knife.
even though i'm sleeping somewhere else tonight.
stop to think.

you say you feel this great weight lifted
well, i sure am glad
but please, take your words out of my mouth
they used to be sweet but the taste went south
just like you have now.

i hope you feel the sun on your skin
and i hope it reminds you of my lips
and i hope it burns you and leaves you red
like all the things you claim i said

everything before was an act, but not this?
come on lover, who're you trying to kid?

i think you've cried wolf enough
it'll take more than that, come on show me your stuff
tell me if i'm wrong, but i feel i realize you're disguised
as the wolf in sheeps clothing, but it's no surprise

if it's any consolation though, now i'm becoming more like you
laying panaramic bricks, though i'll sure miss the view.
