Enlightened To Freedom

Enlightened To Freedom

A Poem by Against All Authority
"

To open your eyes is to shed your chains.

"
We live to shed our chains
that fetter us so tight,
that keep us locked away
tormented in our fight,
we beat our chains mercilessly,
gradually chipping away,
then a moment arrives --
our emancipation day,
at first frozen, paralyzed,
unable to process the sight,
the chain lies broken,
we perceive our individual might,
the jailer, the key-holder,
key in hand melts away,
the truth, flagitious, alarming,
cannot hold fear at bay,
we rise, shedding chains,
"Death to authority!" we roar,
nothing stands between us,
there are no more locked doors,
stepping through the passage,
authorities servants cower and retreat,
we bow now longer - never again,
we stand firmly on our feet.
