Summer's Love

Summer's Love

A Poem by Kay

The sun kisses my cheeks,
Engulfing me with a warmth
That I haven't felt in tens of weeks.

The gentle breeze caresses and teases my hair,
Leaving loving goosebumps on my tender neck.

How extravagant are the simplest of days
As I bask in the suns glorious rays,
I am immersed in lovely memories.

I close my eyes and I am lulled by the scent of freshly cut grass
Shaded by a cluster of omnipresent trees.

I am not alone as I spoon with summer's lovingness
While the sun embraces my secret innocence.

I like it a lot. A tender sentiment with a hint of mystery, well written, using simple words that have a strength of gentle purpose. You've done well, Kay!
