Be Warned

A poem by Ts and Nix

I’m gonna get a quick shower then we can talk

Out the door, you may walk

But before you go, just be warned

I have the man I shot 

Unmourned

hanging on my door...

15 holes 

There was one bullet more but I missed

The list of organs I mauled

Scrawled in blood on the floor

He still whines and cries and calls my name

dead guys like to play that game

I know he's dead

But he just won't shut up

he said I should drink his blood from a cup

I'll have to bury him, along with the others

Mothers and brothers and daughters and sons I've put away

Thick clay will stop his voice

I tell him it wasn't my choice

Lazy dead b*****d

Won't lift a shovel to help

They never do

They just lay there 

To complain in my brain and drive me insane

Like it's my fault they had to die

The last guy is just a maggoty head on a pike 

I thought the spike would make him quiet

But he won't stop bitching to me about it

I'm itching to quit

All this killing takes time

I’m getting tired of hearing those dead folks whine

All of them screech like monkeys

Climbing, screaming, jumping 

The rhyming keeping me from pumping the brakes

Their dead bodies mutilated all to hell

Some covered in gel just to preserve them for later

A hearty (hardy) healthy little snack

I keep a collection of their obituaries in the back

A recollection of the facts

But really, I’ve lost track of how many I’ve killed

I keep the tapes under my bed

 their faces sundered with dread

 You wanna see?

Ah, it’s been so long since I’ve gotten to show someone

Oh! Lookie here! See this one?

He got on my nerves

 so he swerved into my new gun

I knew he would run

I’ve sliced so many to shreds

Cut off so many heads

Still, they scream and cry and yell

Oh, god, I’m going to hell

At least there they will serve me

For all eternity

Author's Note

Ts (T.S. Ulmus) and I did this one together, in case you're wondering how we came up with something like this, I said to Ts, "I have the man I shot 15 times hanging on my door." I honestly just said that to freak him out, I was talking about the "man" on the paper I shot a bunch of times at a gun range, but of course, he had to make a poem outta it so I just went with it.

[Einstein Noodle]

at the start i was taking the read with a bit of humor .. but line by line i started to feel more and more uncomfortable .. because we really do have psychopaths out there ... they do get caught for the most part .. eventually .. but they cause so much pain and horror in society .. it is positively frightening .. Christian Bale's movie "American Psycho" kind of captures that outrageous kind of humor and horror .. well done you two ... i just recently watched that movie so it came to mind quite easily .. great pics too ... especially the "scare crow" ... the line that inspired this is perfect .. it stands out for me before i read your note .. well done .. the macabre has never been so clearly delineated ... sheesh!

It took me a while to find a picture that would go with this that wouldn't give away the fact that the "Man" was really just a piece of holey paper hanging on my door!
