I actually wrote this after I touched my neck to feel my pulse, don't know why I do that so often, but it's just something I do outta habit.
Tell me what y'all think about this poem!! I'm sure I'm going to love hearing y'alls interpretations of this.

oh my .. brave to focus on such a topic .. as I read I followed the instructions .. breath in ... breath out... it starts out to be romantic or an invitation to know someone more intimately ... in a positive way .. creative and sexual tension builds as the pressure does .. to close in revelation of pain and some hidden desire for self destruction ... well done says i ... the progression builds with each breath .. I like it! well done! important issues start to finish says i! ... a very worthwhile poem ma'am.

ps. Happy Valentines Day Nix .. wishing you well and safe :)

This was an amazing read, one that I clung onto every word and wished there was more. Great use of repetition, I too was holding my breath! Really great job!

I tried to make it captivating!! :))) When I showed it to Ts (My main collaborater) he said it read kinda like auto-erotic asphyxiation. Which it kinda does, but I mean, I never really had that intent when I was writing it. My first write of it, I put "I" instead of "you"
"Letting you know I’m still alive"
At first, that was "Letting myself know I'm still alive"
but then I changed it so it sounded like someone else was doing it to me. Just to give it a little bit more of a kick. Thank you so much for your read and review and reaction. It brought a smile to my face :)))

It could also be read that way, it feels more personal than it does sexy to me, but of course it also depends on what state the reader is in to! Really great job, as always!
Wow. This was such a mind blowing read. I forgot to breathe and now breathing in short rasps! You have one hell of a poem here!

Very nice use of words and thoughts dear poet.
"The questions beg
“What do I need saving from?”
Myself
Breathe out..."
I liked the personal feel of the words. Saving who? A interesting question. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I wasn't exactly going for that, though, but I wasn't really going for anything with this poem, just the phrase, "Breathe in, breathe out" has been floating around in my head for a while and I've been wanting to put it in a poem, and I couldn't think of anything happy and upbeat, so when I checked my pulse the other day, this popped in my head, and I hated my brain for it. But I had to get it out immediately. So I wrote it down (typed it in google docs) and this is where it ended up. Thanks for the read and review, though! :)

Funny how things rattle around in the head
Take care
You've brought a very impressive level of detail to your experiences. I haven't been through anything similar, but I can almost imagine it.

I've actually had the words "Breathe in, Breathe out" floating around in my head for awhile and I haven't had a clue how to shove 'em in one of my poems. Oh, and I wish you could send me read requests! :) I really like reading your work and sometimes I miss the new ones you post! (Because you're posting so fast)
I've read this type of writing on another site. Some will consider it BDSM which I never understood but it is popular with a certain crowd.

I'm not...um...exactly a BDSM kinda person. The phrase "Breathe in, breathe out" has been floating around in my head for a while and I had no idea how to stick it in one of my poems. Then one night, I touched my fingers to my neck to feel my pulse, and this popped in my head. Don't know why, but I needed to get it out of my brain immediately, so I wrote it.
