You're Not Alone

I write my poems to let people know: we all go through things; you're not alone.

I write all these poems

And I still can’t think straight

When I write, I always got a feelin’ 

People won’t relate

I been through a lot

Didn’t know how to express it

But now that I can

"My Past" was hard

Read my poems if you still don’t understand

Y’all ever read “My trauma”?

Y’all heard of “Society’s Rules”?

Y’all ever been through drama?

Well, of course, there was high school

Drama’s everyone’s favorite subject

What? Do you object?

Wait, do you, too, hear "The Voices" in your head?

Telling you things like

"Nothing needs to be said"

Well, am I wrong?

Drama, drama, drama

Seemed to be everyone’s favorite song

I’m in highschool now

Jabra’s in my ears

When I’m surrounded by a crowd

Oh, right, no crowds around

There’s ‘rona

HAHA! Sorry, baby, can’t satisfy ya - 

HOL’ UP!!

My poems aren’t erotica

My poems aren’t about sex

They’re there to let you know

That you’re not alone

I’ve been through things, too

Ya know?

I’ve had a rough past

I think “Therapy Session” can attest

If you hadn’t picked it up before

Reading my poetry 

That some people just adore

I speak my mind

Always try my best to write the truth

Oh, I gotta go now, 

Better get back to my cold soup.

I'm yet to read the poems you've quoted in this. You've also mentioned a couple of names like Jabra and Rona and I was looking forward to an imagery of what you've been through with them. Having experienced bullying from groups of people for most of my school years (not just high school) I could really attest that when it comes to consolations, details count -- not only to come to terms with the trauma, but rather to encourage those who are still going through it. I really encourage you more to make the portrayal of your scenes count.

Lastly, thanks for your efforts like these, and for posting this. I shall read your referenced poems now.

The poem's I've referenced in this poem go into more detail about what I've been through in my life, the trauma I've experienced, my newest, "My Past" goes into a little bit of detail as to some fucked up s**t from my childhood, "My Trauma" goes into more detail, and if you read the comments you'd see even more detail there. "Society's Rules" well... I think the title and the description say it all, really. Thanks for reading the reference poems I put in this one. Incorporating your other poems seems like a unique way to be meta while at the same time carrying a message with this poem. Sometimes, especially a poet, will say what they want to hear: you are not alone, I haven't been through half your trauma (found unique trauma for myself) but we can stand together on The bleak plain of madness and loneliness.
