Brown eyes

A poem about a simple girl, with black hair and brown eyes.

Just another girl with black hair

And brown eyes,

Never seems to be noticed by the other 

Guys

Insecure and always feeling

Alone

Wondering if my heart will ever find 

A home

Wishing, wanting, waiting

For someone to notice

Me

The invisible girl 

With black hair

And brown eyes

You see?

I just want someone

To listen to me

I just want someone

To say they love me

I just want someone

Who doesn't drool over a blonde

I just want someone

Who can correspond

With my thoughts

Someone

Who likes brown eyes

I just want someone tall

Someone that'll listen

And that says it all

I have brown eyes

And black hair

I'll look in the mirror

And think

"Who's she?"

"Who's that ugly girl staring back at me?"

"Oh, wait, that's me."

You know,

I've been told that I'm pretty

I've been told that I'm "thick"

But then my brain'll fight with my heart

And they like to start a major conflict

I can't control what goes on in someone's head

But I'm just a girl with black hair

Black, not red

I can't control whether or not I have dimples

But I have brown eyes,

Yeah, plain and simple

Invisible

I'm just a girl

With black hair

and brown eyes

Great poem. This says a lot about how you see yourself, and how you believe other see you.
To me, there is a person out there for everyone. So, I have no doubt that your heart "will find a home" one day.

Someday I hope I'll find someone out there who'll appreciate all my weirdness, lol. Someone who doesn't mind my insecurities, and everything that comes with it, but I'm just seventeen right now hehe, so I still have some time left to find someone. :)

It's a brave and honest poem, a type of honesty not seen often. Personally, I have a strong preference for brunettes. I want someone I can write love poems to, someone to spoil and be tender with, but the jerks that want to ignore and beat thier women always get them. That's not a come-on btw, you're half my age. Though, if I might say just from the perspective of some guy, you look quite lovely in the picture.

Aw, thank you so much. I'm flattered, really. Most of the guys out there will be jerks, but some of them know how to treat us. For the most part anyway. I try to keep all my poems close to the heart, you know? I try to base them on something in my life, something that people want to say, but don't because they're too scared of what people will say. I put my poems out there because that's my voice. It's how I speak to the world, without actually SAYING, verbally saying, anything. You know? I really appreciate this review ❤️
