MagpiesA Poem by NixThis is about looking back and wishing you knew what you know now. It's about life I guess, and change. There's always magpies around my way!I sit where the sun can warm my skin and like an ice cube, melt into a childlike grin watching Magpies pit-patter on the green and kids hop-hopping to their childhood dreams. I long to go back to skipping with friends, chasing rainbows to find the rainbows end. But seasons come and seasons go Those kids hop-hopping watch the seasons sow, while the Magpies skip, one, two, three As they did back then when I played upon the green. I wonder if this has all been planned or if we can alter what’s written in the sand? So many dreams were sort to change, the writer, the painter, the musician and age! I watch the Magpies swoop-swoop into the trees, Magpies - they always knew some things were never meant to be. © 2009 NixFeatured Review
