High Heels and Glad Rags!

High Heels and Glad Rags!

A Poem by Nix
"

This was a little something to offer diversity to my collection. I have had a slight obsession with boots, which has now developed into a love for shoes too!

"
Heels –
Chunky black heels with multiple bow trims and adjustable straps
As comfy as a pair of trainers – she says!
Like an aspiring athlete mastering the art of calf elevation,
In her new fitness footwear!
Tonight -
She dresses in her glad-rags,
Slipping on her shoes as if they were slippers
Readily worn on a cosy evening in front of the TV
Men -
Jaw dropping, eye goggling, men
Licking their lips as her heels descend the stairs,
Like clattering cans, towards the ladies.
Women -
Less than five foot tall and sporting flats
Battering an envious eye as she leans over
To apply more lipstick in the mirror!
Shoes –
The essential female obsession!
Towering wedges, platforms and stilettos
To sheepskin boots and fashionable brands with a French sole!
Tonight -
Its high heels and glad-rags but tomorrow
She will be dipping her chocolate digestives into a steaming brew
Whilst wearing her kinky black leather knee high boots!

OK, this is just wrong! I'm going out shopping today and if I end up spending a fortune on shoes than I'm blaming it all on you! lol! I liked this one. Its fun and does make my mouth water! Its almost sandal time and I can't wait. Oh, and I got this cool pair of black boots for Christmas that make me feels so darn good everytime I put them on. And...Ok, you get the hind I like shoes too? Lol! Great poem with a wonderful style. I really think this one is great Nic.

Fantastic alliteration in this. My Fav line is 'Slipping on her shoes as if they were slippers', that's brilliant. If you don't mind me saying so, I would just use one '!' - at the end of the piece as the 'kinky boots' really deserves to stand out. Love the humour. Of course being male I don't really appreciate this obsession. I only have a couple of pairs of footwear and they are purely for walking in.

You are right, the shoes can set the stage. Toe to head or head to toe, we eventually get there. Enjoyed the write, and smile. Phantom....
