Life is on our Side

I sometimes wonder whether life purposely seeks to confuse us, to throw us off track. Perhaps it is when we pass through dark times and seem to hear its cruel laughter mocking us in the background as we stumble through the unknown, that we realize that maybe our lives are merely there for its entertainment. It is in times like those that we lose our faith in the good of life and begin considering the fact that our small existence might have no real meaning.

But what I’ve realised now is that life delights not in our pain but in our smiles, our laughter – our happiness. I’ve realised too that in those times when we find ourselves in a dark tunnel of pain, we fail to see the light that life is holding out to us. A light showing us the happiness that we so desperately seek. You see, life wishes for us to enjoy what it has for us, to grab it and experience it. Life is constantly yearning for us to step into the light and to use it. Life is on our side.
