The Jack Pine Tree

The Jack Pine Tree

A Poem by Nitesh Mahabal

The Jack Pine tree,
Stood at the end of the street,
For childhood to bloom,
Its story remained incomplete,

When spring arrived,
It brought many change,
Thrown off balance,
Thoughts deranged

Then came summer,
Bringing humidity and heat,
Determination withered,
Purpose took back seat,

Autumn crept with promises,
Of beauty, relief and love,
Which remained unfulfilled,
For many years now,

From the shadow stepped winter,
Keeping you trapped within,
Alone, the jack pine tree,
Stood at the end of the street
