Samaritan

Samaritan

A Poem by Nitesh Mahabal

For some treasures of life,
Need not be unearthed,
When the waves are rough,
They present themselves,

How rare it is to find,
How uncommon of a practice,
To lend a understanding ear,
To the emotionally distracted,

The soul of goodness,
Lost in world of greed,
Taking every chance,
To help those in need,

Forgetting their battle,
They stand by your side,
Making every hustle,
To assure you're fine,

The keepers of faith,
Shining from within,
Thankful to have,
A few good samaritan

You praise the diamonds of this world. True gems who put others before themselves. How right to honour them with a poem Nitesh. Your stanzas well thought out and composed.

That is really showing your appreciation. Kindness goes a long way.
Yes, there are fine souls who give themselves to good works, such as providing company to the otherwise isolated mentally ill. Their kind acts often go unnoticed, but that doesn't lessen them. Their selfless efforts somehow make the race better, seen or not.
