My dad dumped me when I was 10.
This one has really hit home, It doesnt hurt to read it though because...well, ya gotta move on.
The things that the girl in this poem is saying, I understand how it feels and I've asked myself the same damn questions a million times and more.
Until one day...ya gotta learn...its HIM and not YOU.
F*****g awesomely written, you know what its all about.
This is just amazing!
This really hit home to me. My neice is at this stage now
Wondering when her Dad will come by, or pick her up from school.
It kills me to not have the answer for someone who expects you to have them all.
Great Job!!
w0w!!!...LUV the voice you used to write this piece...unfortunately this is something far too many little girls have to ask their mommies on the reg...you are quite talented sis.
Very touching. Daddys' have a ways of walking away when the lov'in gone astray. It's said the baby has to feel it and it's a lost that goes on. I've only met my daddy two times, and he died when I was 12 and I'm a grandma now and I still feel the lost of not knowing. You wrote this very well, you stired of feelings in me I haven't felt in a long time. Very good write, thanks for the share.
I can relate to this poem all too well. It's sad when a child has to ask the question and then no matter what the answer is, we have a thousand more.

It is such a shame when you have to look at your own baby and tell them that daddy is busy, or daddy isn't around. Having to answer all the questions to help heal a tiny heart before it ever even breaks.
You had mad rhythm in this piece. Carried the tempo of a child and a mother. Ironically, if you dig through the files, I also have a piece called "Where Is My Daddy". I see us using the same mentality. That is really making me smile right now. I may have finally found another writers work that I can get into and relate to.
Keep on loving that child the best way you can. It all comes back to you in the end. And the rewards are greater than any thing else one could receive. Your child will look up to you the whole way.

I loved this poem. It really brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of my daughter when she was a little girl. She is now 29 yrs old. Thank you for this wonderful poem.
I love this, beautifully and interestingly written, definitely played on my heart strings! Love the way it's written from the child's point of view, flows wonderfully. This is going in my favorites! x
