The World I FaceA Poem by Nishant VermaThis is a rythmic poemthat deals with the harsh reality that breathes in this world. The stars and garters; In front of my eyes they glitter. From an infant cradle, I was passed on to a babysitter. I was dropped in this world new. In possession of nothing, except a big Q. Untouched by the rules of the race; I was put into an unknown world ; filled with tides and turns. A world, I ought to face. I was shown the sparkling jewels; and golden plates. I was shown the silver moon and starry sky; and when I asked to claim them, to the depth it takes. They told me to step back, saying, "It's way high". I was shown a dream that I found unable to cream. The wounds were there, but I missed the scream. They framed my body, but diseased my soul. They played with the ashes as they burned the coal. Then before the heavens could tie. Before I could lose my breath and die. I brushed my woes and got on my feet. I stepped out in the dark, amidst tormenting sleet To finish the stretches of the race. To know the world that I must face.
