I stumble

I stumble

A Poem by De.Ro
"

journal entry.

"
Walking into it she knows who I am.
She knows where I've been and the things that I've done.
She walks in, eyes bright like the sky, open wide to see what's inside.
A sigh of relief, I feel my heart beat.
I concentrate on my breathing but I lose my train of thought.
I become short of breath. Stop and take one deep breath.
I look into the eyes like they're openings to another world.
A world I want and need. I see it clearly now.
Clear as day like the blue in her eyes.
I stumble a bit as I step forward, I stumble on words I speak.
When I get them all out its magnificently freeing.
She's in it. As well as people around us.
I do not see them but shadows and whispers fly by us like lint under lighting.
Lights so bright I can hardly tell the sun has gone down.
The stars are out now.
Maybe they've been all along.
I stare at the sky now, waiting for something.
Watching a star fall as it burns towards the earth I remember, breath.
She's standing next to me.
It's hard for me to even speak without cutting her off.
A million things crossed off the list already.
What else could there be. Not knowing what she's thinking.
Her smile is all I need.
My smile may suggest that this is just what happiness is.
Though there is one thing still missing, I cannot just state the fact.
Little steps, slowly leaning towards it, I stumble yet again.

My thoughts, or your average reader would beg the question
"whom was this meant for?"

Emotional and true in words and flow with out pushing the limits for the sake of the moment.
