Enough

Enough

A Poem by Sara
"

What's your least favorite word?

"

Enough /ɪˈnʌf/
1. Determiner & pronoun: as much or as many as required
2. Adverb:
to the required degree or extent

Think about the wide pallet of phrases you can make with this disgusting little word:
Is it enough?
I've had enough.
You've done enough.
Enough already.
Enough is enough.
.
.
.
and my personal favorite: I'm not good enough.

What is enough anyway?
Who sets the parameter?
Is it you?
*If it is, stop reading immediately*

You'll never be good enough.
You'll never be good enough
because you're trying to reach
 someone elses perception
of what's good enough.

Stop trying to please everyone.
Stop trying to fit in.
Stop trying to roar if you're born to howl.
Stop trying to fix yourself.

When a plant is dying you don't try to fix it,
you change the surroundings.

It hurts.
Looking at it hurts.

If only you could see what I see.

I think most of us try fitting in with our surroudings not knowing that it's never enough whatever we do..
This is a really good piece making the reader think hard.. Nicely penned! 👍

Man! This is as brilliant and piercing and sticks as deeply as an arrow. I love the idea, and the directness! Such greatness here.

Thanks for stoping by and pausing with me :)
"When a plant is dying you don't try to fix it,
you change the surroundings." has to be my favorite line, but overall I really did enjoy this write. It's different, yet has a pleasant flow to the words. Great job! I'm looking forward to reading more from you in the future.
