Where has the day gone?

Where has the day gone?

A Poem by Nirupama.H

I watch the sunrise, through my dreams,
Hear the constant rambling of TV anchors
about a certain numerical rise & fall-
I couldn't care less.
Feel the heat of the blue flame
with breakfast, then lunch hovering above.
I resist a second serving of sweet,
wonder what the evening will bring.
But an unintended siesta blows my way
so I spend late evening waiting for nightfall.
