The Makers Of Colours

The Makers Of Colours

A Story by Nirupama.H

Have you ever looked at the sky and wondered who painted it blue?
Have you ever looked at your nails and wondered why they aren't naturally green?
Well , I have .
Far far away , in a land you would call a mystery ; They , whom you would call the the creators of your emotions are at work .
It isn't a job where you would expect to find drained souls , but They sure did look tired. They transformed our visions , thoughts , doubts and expectations into things of visible beauty ; into Colours .
Colours , which even meager creatures can see and enjoy. Through these colours , they made man understand unearthly messages , which he usually overlooks with such ease .They never really understood the ways of men , Their odd little brains thought of them(men) as odd little creatures . Yet everyday they filled inarticulate senses into the world as colours .
But who was left to colour their lives ?....

Hi. Love what you have done with this, but have to tell you that this not at all my favourite type of poem. I seldom, if ever, read prose poetry, as I think I might just as well read a book. (lol)!!! I do look forward to more structured poems from you in the future!~!! alf

Who made who the ultimate question.
Gods made us or we made gods.
The answer to this questions should always be a mystery
Because our faith is clinged to it.
Bohot accha likha hai behen.

Thanks a lot !!
This is odd, but rather effective. How did colour get into this world? There are natural explanations, but perhaps someone made them for us...

Yes even such a 'normal' thing like colour is a deep mystery in fact. There is a tribe in Africa, for example, that has no word for blue, and in tests they actually can't see the colour blue, because they have no word for it, they call the sky black and the water white!

Keep working it out Amigo... These are like little chapters in a spiritual observation piece, don't be afraid to connect them.

Thanks a lot ! This means so much !
Aww! The way you see the world, you have been blessed with vision. To think of color as being tied to emotion created by creatures, if done well this story would make an incredible children's movie. Keep sharing and writing your visions, be confident your work is done well!

The questions are many in a life. Who made the water, the mountain and the sky?

I believe they are gift for the wise. The people that love the sea, the earth and the sky. Can know real peace. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. I like poetry that ask questions.
