Thirst

Thirst

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

Do you listen to the quiet still?
Of the listing stream
The breeze past your ears
Windy reminders of eagles
gliding on currents
Landing near
Drinking slow water
Watching the hedges for stir
within and under
Holding your breath with her
Watching with eyes so poor
She may help you feed today
Can you feed the gaping maw
And silence your nascent thirst
The Darkness is few days from
Tomorrow
Naked in the Sun
Crying for the Nile

This poem has a great rawness to it that leaves you gasping for breath. Maybe it's the onslaught of imagery that grabs you, keeps you present and in the moment? I dont know, I try not to over analyze and just float down the river and you definitely took me on a great journey. Great to read you again.
