With The Maps Given Us

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

His five year old ears
Heard the sound
of thunder
Romance
Instant
Connect
The pounding rhythm
Raining
Writhing and
Still
Still he loved him
As he walked away
Knowing he would never return
Though he did return
And they drank into dark mornings
and shared chocolate bars
and eggs sunny side up
And slayed villains
Both real
and Imagined
The terrible forest
is no less treacherous
With the maps
Given us
