If the darkness hides them

novel concept. It's almost a metaphysical koan.

"could she ever lover her shadow?"

This somehow stood out for me. Reminded me of Narcissist drowning in the lake, falling in love with his own image.

Something tragic about the "her"

One small type . Last line "its" instead of "it's"

Well, they usta do that, not so much these days. Yeah, there are erotic limits, just like you can't go faster than light. Rules you know? They tell the new employees at the candy factory "enjoy, eat all you want." Good policy saves money and surveillance. They quit gorging pretty quick.
