Stand

Stand

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

To weather her gales
Forsee the maelstrom
Lend ear to swirls
Of silent claxon
Gaze upon the mundane
Reckon
Taste the words she speaks
Do not devour
Regard every scent she exudes
in her movements
Do not guard her from danger
Stand sentry to her heart and dreams

close enough
Mariner observing sea to find the way and it reflects to real life. I hope I got the correct meaning . 😅

I can see the reference of girl as sea.
Not very many times do I have to google a few different words in a piece! Your vocabulary is impressive & well-turned. I love the way this poem could apply to a woman, a ship, or the sea . . . & probably lots more! But the flavor of mariner life seems most prominent here, which reads nicely!
