Her Heart Is A House Of Relics

Her Heart Is A House Of Relics

A Poem by Nipplegrinder
"

Inspired by the URL of my friend Relic.

"
Her heart is a house of relics
A museum of priceless pieces
The vastness is arresting
In rooms of the longings of an
Innocent girl
In exhibits of the endless compassion
of a tireless advocate
In darkened corridors of shame
Helplessness
Fear
In rooms of boundless joy
the beauty of moments shared
and peaceful private triumph

At the center
A pool
Nearly empty
Flora and fauna
The pool's waters
Clear
The pool of her tears

In that pool of unshed tears
lie the hopes of all who enter

This is brilliant & intense. The title just draws me in & I'm already envisioning a dusty attic scene. I love the way you start out by "filling" this attic with various emotions & heart sensations . . . then you drift to a less human-like metaphor in the 2nd stanza, marrying feelings with nature. I love all the different ways you present the idea of "water" (a suggestive concept . . . could be cleansing, could be drowning). This is very well written! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A very thoughtful "look inside". Is there a word or term for the study of introspection? For the look inside, not into your own space, soul, brain, mind, but in general or the look into another person? Bravo, thanks.

.. speechless! I am just stunned and in awe of your writing.. the words, the imagery, the flow.. so beautiful, elegant and chosen so precisely.. I love the details!! I will have to come back and comment more specifically as I am just still floored right now... your works are masterpieces!

Was my pleasure and you are welcome.
This is beautiful it is not only a view into a woman's heart it is a view into yours. There is a longing here in a peaceful light that swims on the surface and enough that you remember it later.
