The Death Of The Shadowchaser

The Death Of The Shadowchaser

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

The total eclipse of the sun
heralds the death of the Shadowchaser.
The endless emptiness
of the capture will cease
The shadows will fall upon blackest canvas
An onyx earth
The darkness beyond unknown
faster than light
does not envelope
It casts pall upon the Shadowchaser
Finding neither movement
nor essence
Shadowchaser succumbs
but for the absence of prey
With the first glimpse of new radiance
the carcass of the Shadowchaser
lie in shadows
Entombed

A very good philosophy you have put forward in this clever poem. To use the sun to eclipse the Shadowchaser. I think we should all do a bit of eclipsing! I enjoyed your poem.
