Where The Exalted Lie

Where The Exalted Lie

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

I walk on gilded stilts somehow
amongst mirthmen, storied statesmen, and heroes.
Amongst glorious honor
Unfathomable disregard
Indefatigable wills
And humbled men.
I stand, and shake on stilts
I shudder
I realize beneath me, is not everything good
nor true
Some, is rather putrid.
I stand on stilts,
and see the dregs, too
lie also, where the exalted lie.
