Lacrymose LamentA Poem by Nipplegrinder
These tears, a tithe
to our love that once was, a payment of pain. This lacrymose lament an offering of longing. These tears come falling In agony, bawling. On knees, I beg your stead. This weary heart beats for your touch. This weary mind plays our cinematic romance on loop. My weary soul begs for your gaze. In those eyes, I once died in, In those arms that gathered me, In that heart that once held my own Do I ever hope to be. A drop of dew on a rose petal, A single teardrop in a river of regret. A flood of tears. A drowning. My cavernous heart still holds our love dear And waits to kiss you once more. © 2017 NipplegrinderReviews
