I Remember YouA Story by NipplegrinderA tribute to the souls lost on 9/11, and also to those who avenged their deaths
When you're gone, you can never come back.
You left us forever that day. We sat in our homes, at our jobs, or in traffic listening to you die. Every single one of you matter to us. The horror of hate and its attendant atrocities are now part of our daily lives. I thought I knew hate. Had even said that I had hated someone. But, that day, they hated all of us. And that word is now so very real. I've never hated anyone. How they came to hate us is important. We need to understand why. But the importance of your deaths, the heroism of your sacrifices, and the senseless reasons why, should spur us all to understand why we're here and what we can do for each other, not to each other. Like a generation before, when Kennedy was felled, my generation will remember exactly where we were when all of you died. So, to the heroes, and the innocents, I remember you, and always will. © 2017 Nipplegrinder |
