Of Mine

Of Mine

A Poem by Nourie

Baby of Mine

Hush now, baby of mine.

          let me dry your tears,

                 let me hold you near.

Hush now, baby of mine,

           I've got you, no need to cry.

Precious child,

           skin like silk,

                   hair like feathers,

                          eyes like gems.

Baby of mine, I love you,

                           I adore you,

                               I cherish you,

                      with all my heart.

So hush now, baby of mine,

                           there's no need to cry.

Mummy of Mine

Calm now, mummy of mine,

                          let me apologize,

                               let me show my grief.

Calm now, mummy of mine,

                      I understand now, no need to worry.

Treasured mother,

                          heart of gold,

                                 touch of warmth,

    eyes like gems.

Mummy of mine, I love you,

                                  I adore you,

  I cherish you,

                              with all my heart.

So calm now, mummy of mine,

                             I'm sorry, please forgive me.
