For Day #11 of the PAD Challenge, we were to write a "Seasons" poem.
SEASONS OF LIFE
The day you were born
and laid in my arms
felt like Summer.
I was so full of love and warmth
Life was good…
Like a day at the beach
As you grew
From an infant to your teens,
It was like Spring…
Watching you bloom
like the beautiful flowers
That appear in May
When you graduated
and embarked on your own journey
It was like Fall…
Scary, like the haunted hayrides we took together;
Growing cold
As I turned into an emptynester
I can’t bear
To think of there being
A time without you.
That would be a permanent Winter,
Where my heart
would be forever frozen
Seasons of Life gives us a quarterly examination to work with and that worked fine in your piece. Your perceptions of the seasons of life changed as much for you as they changed for your child. One day your child will also experience the seasons of life perceptions change as they recall what you are recalling now. This is a beautiful part of the living of a good life and you have shared your word picture of it beautifully.

Gorgeous! I don't know what else to say except you have captured perfectly the growth of a child into adulthood and weaved the seasons together seamlessly. Great write!

Thank you so very much! I really appreciate the kind review!
I am Nini. There was a time, a very long time ago, when the words came easy to me. Writing was like breathing. There was never a question of "how" to do it, I just did it. After what seems like a .. more..
