Death

I awoke yesterday morning
wondering why some of us live
and others die

Then, I pondered why it's so easy
for some to laugh
while the only emotion for others
is to cry

Death surrounds me
it is everywhere I look
It has taken those who are dear to me

How do we know where our loved ones go
when they die
I am waiting for God to answer that
in fact, I waited all night

I keep waiting
but God has put me on hold
I tried again but got a busy signal

Maybe...
we're not supposed to have
the answers of death
while we are still alive

I'll keep waiting
if I find what I am searching for...
I'll let you know

The question we all ask: what lies beyond the dark veil of death. Some who have near death experiences (or who have died for minutes) often return to talk about the light or they see family waiting. Others see nothing. Perhaps those who see have always hoped to see while those who haven't never did believe in life after death. God tells us not to worry for the righteous will have eternal life but at the end of the day we can only have faith for no one knows what lies beyond. Nice write!
