Despair

Despair

The shadows of despair
descend upon me
once again
the heaviness
is a weight
that suffocates
my soul

I look out my window
only to see
the cold
the ground covered with snow
and ice
much like my heart

I long for the warmth
that Spring will bring
that seems like such a
long distance

Will the ice ever thaw?
Will my heart ever
feel light again?

Only when I arrive home...
not until then.
