"

William has his second date with Miranda and we get to learn a little about the possible origins of how Nicci came to be.

"

Miranda had once again come over to my house. We had planned to go out and go for a walk on one of the hiking trails and then go to a nice restaurant, but it was raining pretty hard today. Instead we were going to do like what we did last time, but a little more light hearted. We ordered Chinese food and decided to watch a bunch of monster movies. The both of us promised each other though that our third date would definitely have to be fancy. Miranda strolled over to the TV to switch out to the next movie and found herself looking at the books on the shelf nearby. Something seemed to catch her eye.

"I haven't seen this one before," she said and removed a little red colored book. I knew right away what book it was and my heart froze a little.

"My mother gave that one to me. It's called the Through the Many Worlds. She was a children's book author who never really took off," I said to her. Her look instantly turned into concern and she held the book now as if she were holding a newborn.

"Through the Many Worlds...featuring the Cosmic Knight and the Cherry-blonde Princess," Miranda spoke, stating the title fully.

"It's about the Cosmic Knight and the woman he serves and protects, the Cherry-blonde Princess. He has a power to traverse through many different worlds, basically to the point he just has to think of a world and they can go there," I said and reflected upon the many stories of the book.

"Throughout the book the two go through many worlds to solve the different people's problems. The last fable of the book is a story of the Cosmic Knight's past. It turns out the Cosmic Knight is actually from a lost world in which his mother was the Queen and had the power to create worlds and characters. Before their world was destroyed his mother saved him. She gave him the friendship of the Cherry-blonde Princess, a woman who had the power to traverse to different worlds and be with him so that he was not alone. Eventually the Cherry-blonde Princess taught the Cosmic Knight her powers and they lived together in happiness, forever traveling the many worlds," I told her.

"Wow that's a pretty awesome ending to the book," Miranda replied.

"She wrote it just for me," I told her with a smile.

I enjoyed this. There weren't any glaring grammatical errors that pulled me out of the story. The conflicting real and unreal, and the reveal of the story book at the end were nicely done I thought.

I would have liked to know more about what Nicci meant with wanting to come out to the real world sometimes, and the extent of what she could do, but that's my own curiosity and it might have been jarring in the flow of your story.
