The Power in the Pen

The Power in the Pen

A Poem by Arya_the_elven_lady
"

This is a poem about my writing and what it means to me.

"
When I write the words, they take me elsewhere.
Away from the world and everyday life,
To a world where I have the power to make anything happen.

My heart warms, I feel no more stress.
No pain, no anger, just joy and power.
I lazily consider what word would best describe this or that.

Nothing can break me, no-one can take me,
In my stories, the characters belong to me.
Worlds where anger reign, blood pools, and fire rains.

This is the joy that writing brings,
And it is certainly my favorite thing.

You know....even though your words are so simple I think this is one of my fave poems. I suppose i should tell you why:).... its simple but its told without colloquialism. Its the truth and its a poem by itself and it has decent flow. You put into words what we all....word?????......do..... Im gonna stop bangin on. I loved it.

And so say all of us! Nice work, it has a "Sound of Music" ring to it! Simple but joyous!

Huh, and I thought I was the only one who thought like this! Guess not^^, Yay!
It simple, but has many strong words in it without making it over-complicated, and this is what makes this a look into a writers soul:)

What a perfect insight into the mind of a writer! Yes.. whole worlds can be created, existing where nothing did before, and those worlds can fill the imaginations of countless people around the world. Writing is simply extraordinary and enchanted in every way!

It is a populuar saying, that a pen is more powerful than swords, cause a sword can cut your head off, but a pen cuts your heart off!!
Ok enough of my preaching rant, your poem reminded me of above saying, so I couldn't resist mentioning it here;0
The choice of your words, the perfect feeling that you bring it here, its amazing
I loved your poem, very nice and inspiring!!

Short and very fast-paced. Very personal as well. It doesn't really move me, though. Doesn't take me somewhere. I can tell that you're trying though, the stanzas are well built, but maybe if you expanded it a bit more, you could really get to that point. You didn't try to rhyme things, which helped a lot with your tone of kinda uplifting and optimistic and your movement. Nice job.
