Of Cobbled Streets And Colourful Houses (Somewhere In A Winding Street ch3)

A Chapter by Nimfle

Sweat sticking the back of my dress
I bear the evening heat wave
As we walk hand in hand along the empty cobbled street
That winds around like a snake among the colourful houses.

I loosened my hold just a little bit
So that you would tug me along.

Sweat making your mass of unruly short curlyhair
Stick to your forehead in a mess,
You pushed them aside with sighs of frustration.

I look at your arching eyebrows,
the frustrations with which you sigh
and our clammy hands clenched together ...

In this winding street,
where your footsteps doesn't echo...

Surrounded by beautiful houses
In colours too bright,

I stifle the cries tearing at my throat..

Another memory
of a dream that neither you or I
Ever lived.
