“2…4…6…8 who do we appreciate ferocious…ferocious Gooooo Team!!!!”

“It’s really hot out there.” Lola said to her best friend Latika as she took a gulp of her water bottle.

“I know I was sweating like crazy! Oh my gosh here comes Cody.”

“Would you just like talk to him already I’m tired of hearing you talk about him.”

“I’ll talk to him when you talk to Gabriel.”

Then at that moment Cody walked by us and said to Latika, “Hey girl looking extra girly today… Loser.”

I ran out of the room crying. Lola came over to my house later to make sure that I was okay. She told me that if Cody wasn’t smart enough to see that I was pretty then he wasn’t good enough for me.

The next day at school I was waiting around with the other cheerleaders for Latika. She was always early for practice, but today she showed up to practice with a big surprise.

“How do you guys like my new look?”

Latika was wearing a chain, spike bracelet and necklace. She was wearing a leather jacket she wore boots with spikes on the top Latika brought new C.D for us to dance to one of the songs were this is how we do it a very cool song but the next song was a punk song called punk rocker.

Latika was a punk and girly girl at the same time all together she had to change her look though because the teacher got involved and told her she could not wear spikes to school. The next day she walked in to the courtyard in a skirt and a tank top she knew her real self was somewhere she just had to search for it what’s it her inner spirit it lives in the woods it’s the greatest way to be a spirit of a young a beautiful girl says Latika’s unknown crush Carlos.

He had a crush on her since 1st grade but each time he would go to ask her she would be with another crush, but today he would score a girlfriend. So he walked over to her and said strait up to Latika “Will you go out with me? I’ve liked you for a really long time. Besides I like your girly style not your girly punk look.”

Latika walked away because she didn’t care what Carlos thought. All she cared about was impressing Cody. I went over to her house after practice that day, when I walked in the room I was shocked her girly room was split in half. One half still really girly and the other had been turned into a scary doll, punk, rocker room.

When I got home I went straight to my mom and asked her this question, “Mom if you had a friend that changed her look just to impress a boy, but her new look was kind of scary to you, would you tell her how to feel?”

“Well sweetheart, of course because you shouldn’t keep secrets from your friends.”

       “Okay thanks mom.”

Today at school Lola came up to me and told me that my new look scared her. She also told me that if I did not change back she would kick me off the cheer squad. The reason she had said this is because there is a spirit watching over me and her when it gets mad it controls us over our own use.

Splat is the angry spirits name, it walks in the woods right next to the school and another thing is that the spirit lives next to Lakita’s house. Annabelle the quiet nice spirit believes that if you are yourself then you know who you are. Latika and Lola walked to school that day and guess who was there, Cody, the guy that called Lakita a loser. Well Lakita had a little surprise for him she was dressed in a skirt and a tank top colored in pink, purple, and blue.

She was back to her old style because she wanted to be on the cheer squad and wanted Lola to be her friend, she also said yes to Carlos.

The next day Cody came over to Latika and asked her out, she told him these exact words, “I thought I was to girly for you, so now I have a boyfriend and you are left stuck in the worlds largest watermelon.”

“What no I’m no…..” then she pushed him in the watermelon.

Latika and me kept being friends and she and Carlos kept dating. Latika was always happy and never changed her look again.
