Kafka was right

Kafka was right

A Poem by Nima.Hope

Kafka was right,
it's not "leaving" itself,
that causes pain and sorrow,
but it's the fact that
how easily people abandon
each other, memories
and leave it all behind.

At this time of night,
as Chopin and Schubert
caress the cells of my ear,
I can see the reason of my pain,
so clear.
One can understand
the decay of love,
but to endure being ignored,
abandoned, like a never existed joke.

I sometimes wonder
as if I'm too sensitive
or people are so cold,
carless and claiming to be bold.
In this world of little understanding,
how one can keep his heart warm,
his hopes high,
in this swamp assumed to be a farm?

Oh dear reader,
don't take this wrong,
I ain't nagging,
just looking for a little sympathy,
in a world left empty of empathy.

This writing might not be a poem completely, maybe just a nightly delirium, it's up to your judgement.
Thank you for reading.

In time I think everyone finds out one way or another that people do not actually care about other people as much as we were led to believe. Humans are more selfish as a species then we'd like to admit. And there is a lot of trial and error taking place when it comes to relationships, especially these days with social media connecting exponentially more people together. Some have not adapted to this, they form bonds too quickly and overestimate the other person's interest.

Most people in general don't really get along with each other after we really, really get to know each other. It's important to be careful who we let into our lives. Getting too close to the wrong people can be very painful in the end. That's why we should first get to know ourselves and love ourselves first. We make better choices after that... and become more emotionally resilient and confident people in general.

I liked your nightly delirium poem, I think it speaks to an emotion everyone struggles with at some point. Rejection is painful for everyone, you will never be alone when it comes to that.
