The day I leave

The day I leave

A Poem by Nima.Hope
"

My Requiem

"
The day I leave,
Do not think I have any regrets
I shall live in my words
I shall breathe through memories
Which people recall on my grave.
I want them to remember me,
He dared enough to be brave.

The day I leave,
Whisper "Ode To Joy" on my tomb
So I shall rest in peace,
like a baby in his mother's womb .

The day I leave,
Look for me in my photos,
A child of no awareness
An old man recalled for his braveness

The day I leave,
I want the woman I shall kneel to
I want the woman whom I can really feel
The woman whom I will someday meet
To be by my side till my last breathe

Carress her hair in my absence
Calm her like I used to do in her presence
Let her be proud of herself
For she redeemed a miserable man
Who once said he was:
" A man with a plan"

A lovely composition here Nima. Projecting yourself into the future and anticipating end days. I think most of us would wish to be remembered in a positive light. Thoughts as well as to finding that very special love who will make your living all the worth while. I so enjoyed reading you again my young friend. A most touching read. Have a wonderful weekend.

Only if our king was alive......
Your poem is a touching and poignant reflection on life and death. The repetition of "The day I leave" creates a sense of inevitability and finality, while the imagery of living through words and memories is powerful and moving. The desire to be remembered for bravery and courage is a noble aspiration, and the reference to "Ode to Joy" adds a sense of joy and celebration to the poem. The final stanza is particularly heartfelt, with the speaker expressing his desire for a loving partner to be by his side until the end. The final lines are a beautiful tribute to the transformative power of love and the ability of one person to change another's life for the better. Overall, your poem is a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to the human experience. Well done!
