Oh Moon River

I'm a free-believer

Where are the two drifters?

Off to see the world?

 Or just it was 

Only a dream?

Moon River,

You remind me of

The ideals

The farthest times

The time when moon was blue

The time when kindness costed

Not much

You remember me 

Of the honest hearts

Of the modest loves

Of the forgotten dreams

Which now seem,

Impossible to pursuit

Moon River,

Bring me a smile

Bring me a desire

To be as  passionate

As  a butterfly, when she 

Flies around the candle,

When she burns for the light

But finds it, a delight

Oh dream maker

Where is my huckleberry friend?

Is she there waiting

For me, around the bend?

Or she is after a rainbow's end

In another rainforest,

In a whole different world?

Moon River

Wherever you're going

I'm wishing you good luck

I wish you may never stop

To carry the old treasures

Once we admired

And now they're lost.......

not a Moon River kind of a guy, more like a rolling stone, but your poem made me think of my mom and that is a good thing. She was a big fan of Andy Williams and also Tony Bennett and Johnny Mathis. She would listen to them and sing along, I think b/c she had a romantic heart also b/c she had a unfulfilled dream of being a Rockette Dancer. Thanks for the memories (Bob Hope)

"Moon River" is one of my favorite songs, and I love Audrey Hepburn's version of it from "Breakfast at Tiffany's." It's a yearning for a simpler life, and you have elaborated that yearning well here in your poem. In these fast moving times, I think we all yearn for it. Well penned.

I wish the danger to be removed, and you be in absolute happiness.
I'm nobody to tell you to be "strong" or "optimistic", because the pain is so hard but I can tell you one thing:
Wladsylaw Spilzman lost all of his family members in World War 2 during tbe conquer of Warsaw. He lost his sister,mother,father,brother but he succeeded to live for 90 years, writing books and even he got married and started his family and lived,although he never forgot the pain of losing his dear ones. So, life goes on and I'm sure our dear ones do not want us to stop living in their grief, they want us to commemorate thier memory in our hearts......

Thank you Dear Coyote. I love America's pop culture during 1940 till the begining of 1960's the most. Wonderful songs, movies and people. Now that I'm 18, I find myself so close to America's culture that I can't wait to see more beautiful movies or hear amazing songs of the old days, I guess ai become more greedy for these Nostalgias as I grow older.
