Kissing them goodbye

I must kiss the news goodbye

For they hurt my heart so much:

“A girl became orphaned

A mother became childless

A man’s heart became broken

A woman’s life taken”

I must kiss my morality goodbye

For now, I have to care for my own life

I have many things to do

Many opportunities to use

And people

Who are waiting for me

To reach the level they expect me to

 

The last months

Were awful

Terrible,

Chaos,

Sleepless nights,

Sorrows,

Why?

Because I cared for humanity

And I suffered so much

So please excuse me

If I have to turn off my moral

But I will turn it on

Soon after I’ve done my duty

I used a poem that has no rhythm

To make a promise to myself

To not be ashamed in upcoming years

So please don’t say

“Hey, that’s no way

To say Goodbye”

The cycle of stories comes around again and again. You might think humanity doesn't learn anything. Do we lose our morality when the news feels mundane and we stop caring? I think you have answered that.

Nice freestyle poetry Nima. Just a touch of rhyme, and halting rhythm that keeps the mind on its toes. (My mind has toes as it happens) I'll be back for more soon

If You care for humanity, if your heart feels all the sorrow, pain, sadness of this wold, it doesn't mean to throw yourself into this dark hole without being to get up, BUT exactly as You say, to try your best, to be your best, to keep going into the best.... That's how You give humanity and the world the best, by being your best version.

Caring for humanity surely brings heartache these days...because there is so little humanity left.
People hate, attack, abuse...what the hell happened to make us like that?
yet the poets persist in trying to show a modicum of caring...but are our words enough?

It seems it is harder and harder every day to care for humanity and though I know that sounds very ugly to say, the injustice in the world, the disregard for human life, the hatred..it is all a bit too much to take and to bear. I still believe we should care for our fellow humans but it is hard and there comes a time when we have to care for ourselves. Nicely done.
