The Musical Pain

The Musical Pain

A Poem by Nima.Hope
"

Thanks to Chopin!

"

I shouted and left the room

Like a thunder gazing at desert

Passed to my bedroom to empty my flourishing anger

Then I looked at my shelf

A book with a photo of Chopin

I took it myself and came to the PC

To hear him play

He told my pain to the piano

The piano retold it for me

With the hands of Chopin

I listened to the Nocturne

Sounded like a walking rain

Each drop of it was a blood

Moving through my brain with pain

Music, Music , Music

The accessible calming drug to gain

Over and over again

I was hearing my pain

I saw Chopin's soul calling me

A genius that has become insane

They say a Genius feels more pain with his higher sensitivity , if you read history , all the geniuses are mostly round the twist

I totally agree with you, it's both sad and true. Chopin must die in 39 while some live over a 80s.
A moving write here, This is wonderful

Music is universal. Songs can bring back memories that make us smile or bring us to tears. Classical music is not my favorite, but obviously it is yours. Giving your pain to the music is such an outlet. Well written. Lydi**

Music certainly touches the soul Nima and can certainly be a mood changer. I feel that about Ralph Vaughan Williams. He was a British composer. If I want calm, I play the Lark Ascending. I understand perfectly here how Nocturne can do that for you. Your poem a delight to read and relatable too.

"He told my pain to the piano"---
music has always been my soundtrack...I really love the last lines in this...
and it reminds me of Ambrosia's song "Harvey" in which they sing..."one thin line draws the border between madness and the genius"

Music can soothe the soul and lift our mood. Chopin was a great composer and musician. Delacroix was a great painter. I appreciate both music and the art of painting. A life without some appreciation of the arts is a life unfulfilled in some ways, I always think. And yes, some great artists suffer greatly for their art!
