The Man Who StayedA Poem by Nima.HopeDedicated to the International Iranian singer, Farhad Mehrad.Once there was a man Whom they said he had no plan He lived not for wealth He lived not for fame He lived to talk of a pain The pain of a tired people The pain which made them vulnerable He sang to inform human beings To not fight for foolish material things He spoke 5 languages to send his message Many ignored him like a poor in a passage He sang to convince human for unity To make an effort to remove the poverty But poor was him! The people who ignored thinking The people who only wanted "drinking" Found him strange to be listened to He died while few noticed to I find it my duty to introduce this John Lennon of my country I guess if he wasn't Iranian Many music halls were named after his honesty And poor my people who are infamous in the world I wish they gain the respect Once they had in the world "Farhad" didn't rift a mountain To show his care for his people He stayed with them during the war He ignored to leave his country and sing for wealth While the youth of his country Were falling like leaves P.S: Farhad playing " I believe to my soul"
