Stephanie's Random Adventures Chapter 2

Stephanie's Random Adventures Chapter 2

A Chapter by Nikoli
"

Art is random. This story is random. Stephanie gets into so many wacky adventures, but is she ever going to succeed in taking over the world? Probably not, but there's nothing wrong with having a little impulsive fun on the side

"

Sen spent most of the night trying to think of a way to escape Stephanie’s evil clutches, but it was to no avail. She ended up falling asleep in the ridiculously huge bed in her room. Everything in Stephanie’s castle is fancy, and Sen was surprised at how yellow everything is. The majority of Stephanie’s castle is filled with things that are the color yellow, because for some reason she likes it. Sen thought this was rather odd, but what caught her attention most were the intricate paintings of giraffes on the ceiling and walls of her room. Their eyes seemed to be watching her, and it took most of the night before she was able to fall asleep.

When Sen awoke the next morning, she found Mittens three inches from her face, staring at her with his golden dragon eyes. Sen let out a horrified scream and tried to jump out of bed, but ended up falling on the floor with a loud thud. “Ow!” She cried and struggled to get to her feet. She backed away from Mittens until her back was against the wall of the opposite side of the room. Mittens stared at her intently and slowly walked towards her, similar to how a cat stalks a mouse.

“Get away!” Sen yelled, “I swear to God I’ll freeze you!” She held up her palm defensively, but Mittens did not stop his approach. Sen unleashed an ice blast nearly point blank at Mittens, but he did not move out of the way. A thick layer of ice covered his body and it stopped him in his tracks. He looked down at his partially frozen body. With his awesome dragon strength, he shook his body vigorously from side to side (like a dog that got wet) and broke free from the ice.

“S**t.” Sen said in horror. Before Mittens could get to her, she sprinted out of the room and slammed the door shut. She took off down the long hallway. A second later, the door she closed burst open and Mittens emerged into the hallway, searching wildly for Sen. He spotted her running and started chasing after her with his awesome dragon running abilities.

“D****t!” Sen yelled, “Leave me alone!” She took a sharp turn in an attempt to slow him down, but Mittens easily made the turn and continued his furious pursuit. Mittens open his mouth, revealing his sharp dragon fangs, and let out a bone chilling roar. Sen ran even faster, but Mittens eventually caught up to her. He opened his mouth and snapped at Sen, but she dodged out of the way just in time.

Just then, they entered a large open room with a lot of tables. It was a very tall room and Sen got an idea. She took a sharp turn and ran straight up the wall, leaving Mittens on the ground, staring up after her. Sen stopped halfway up, freezing the bottom of her feet to the wall. She let out a long sigh of relief.

That relief was short lived when Mittens opened his massive golden dragon wings. He flapped them once and flew straight up into the air. “S**t!” Sen yelled. She had forgotten that dragons can fly. What an idiot…

Mittens swiftly flew up to Sen and lunged at her with his mouth open in an attempt to bite her. Sen ran horizontally along the wall, barely evading Mittens’ strike. Mittens smashed into the wall, completely obliterating the stone and sending hundreds of pieces falling to the floor. Mittens turned and saw Sen running straight upwards. She reached the ceiling and turned to face Mittens. She got into a defensive crouch, preparing for his next attack.

Mittens flapped his wings and headed straight toward Sen. Sen lifted her palm and shot a thick icicle about four feet long at Mittens. The icicle smashed into Mittens, but because of his badass dragon scales, it didn’t hurt him at all. The force of the impact against him in midflight sent him falling toward the ground. Sen sprinted down the wall as fast as she could, heading for where Mittens was falling.

Mittens smashed against the floor, causing the ground to crack and fracture underneath him. Mittens was obvious unharmed by the fall, but he was seriously pissed off. Sen reached the ground right as Mittens started to stand up. Before Mittens could react, she slammed her hands on the ground and a tidal wave of ice shot up out of the ground, surrounding Mittens in a sphere of ice.

Mittens started clawing at the ice, but it was too thick for his mighty dragon claws. He knew he couldn’t break out by force. He drew in a long breath and when he exhaled, bright blue flames shot out like a flamethrower. Within seconds, the ice melted, leaving nothing but a puddle of water behind. Mittens growled at Sen menacingly and stepped towards her. Sen drew ice around her forearm to make her ice sword again. She crouched low, preparing for his next strike.

Just then, Stephanie appeared in the doorway. She yawned, “What are you two doing? You woke me up.” Sen gave her a flat look, “It’s two in the afternoon.” Stephanie threw her hands up in a grumpy rage, “Well it’s hard to get a lot of sleep when I’m not even tired until four in the morning!”

“That’s because you drink coffee all day!” Sen shot at her. “Well—” Stephanie tried to argue, but she couldn’t think of anything, “Never mind. What are you guys doing anyway? Is this some kind of new game that you didn’t invite me to play?” Sen gave her a furious glare, “Your f*****g dragon tried to eat me!” She pointed her finger at Mittens, who tilted his head innocently at Stephanie.

Stephanie looked from Mittens to Sen, “Well, maybe you should try being less delicious looking.” Sen threw her arms up in frustration, “That’s not fair! I didn’t even do anything!” Mittens’ thoughts projected into Stephanie’s mind. Can I eat her now? Stephanie shook her head, “No. You can’t eat Sen, no matter how delicious she might taste.” Sen glanced at Mittens and then to Stephanie, “What is he telling you?! Please let me eat her. Please? She smells so good.

Stephanie spoke to Mittens with her awesome mind powers. I’ll admit that she does smell good, but I need her for my evil plans. Mittens walked over to Stephanie and circled around her. Can’t I just eat her a little? Stephanie looked at Sen and thought about it, “Mmmm… No, you better not.” Sen shot her another angry look, “What are you talking about with that overgrown lizard!?”

“First of all,” Stephanie said, “He’s not a lizard. Second of all…” She put her finger to her lip in thought, “Damn. I forgot what I was talking about.” Stephanie heard Mittens’ thoughts in her mind. Something about your plan? Stephanie smiled, “Oh yeah! You’re so smart Mittens.” That’s completely true. Stephanie giggled, “You silly dragon.” She scratched him behind his ears. Mittens lied on the ground and flipped over on his back, exposing his dragon belly. Stephanie bent over and rubbed his belly affectionately.

“You’re so cute!” Stephanie cried as she continued to scratch Mittens. “Why are you such an idiot!?” Sen yelled. Stephanie gave her a frown, “You don’t need to yell Sen. I’m right here.” Sen glared at Stephanie spitefully, “You don’t take anything seriously! Your dragon almost ate me!” Stephanie shrugged, “Maybe he just doesn’t like you. He doesn’t like most people, but I’ve never seen him so interested in a human before.” Sen shot her a flat look, “That’s because he wants to eat me!”

It’s true, Mittens thought. He stood up and stared at Sen with bright eyes. Stephanie shook her head, “Mittens, I forbid you from eating Sen… at least until after today’s mission.” Sen gave her a confused look, “What mission?” Stephanie looked confused, “I thought I already told you.”

“No,” She said plainly, “You didn’t.” Stephanie shrugged, “Well, since you forgot, I’ll just go over the plan again.” How long am I going to have to put up with this idiot?

“Did you just call me an idiot?” Stephanie asked suspiciously. “No,” Sen said, “And stop reading my mind.”

“I’ll try,” Stephanie said, “But anyway… Today we’re going to break into a secret research facility.” This caught Sen’s attention. “Why?” Sen asked curiously. “There’s a secret document there that I need to get. It’s very important and very secret.”

“If it’s so secret, how did you find out about it?” Sen asked. Stephanie grinned, “How do you think?” Sen nodded. How did she forget that Stephanie can read minds? Stupid ninja girl…

“Come on Sen,” Stephanie said and started walking toward the door, “Let’s get going.” Sen didn’t move, “Why should I go with you? With your stupid powers you should be able to do this all on your own.” Stephanie shrugged, “That’s completely true, but if I did then it wouldn’t be as much fun!” She laughed and ran out the door, leaving Sen and Mittens alone.

Mittens turned to Sen and growled at her menacingly. “Don’t even try.” Sen said in a low voice. Mittens took a step forward but stopped when Stephanie called him, “Come on Mittens! And bring Sen!” Mittens glanced at Sen. “You better not try to eat me,” Sen said, “Or I’ll turn you into an ice cube.” Mittens rolled his eyes and followed after Stephanie.

The three of them arrived at a room with a very large metal door. Stephanie stood with her back against the door and faced Sen, “Ok Sen, this is where we’ll hold our secret strategy meeting for today’s mission.”

“Um,” She said, “Ok. Why does it have to be a secret?” Stephanie gave her a sly smile, “Because it’s more fun that way.” Sen rolled her eyes. When am I going to get out of this hell hole? Stephanie ignored her thoughts and swung the enormous door open and stepped inside. Mittens and Sen followed her in.

Sen looked around the room in confusion. It was a completely empty room without any furniture or anything besides a single closet door. The entire room was painted yellow. “What’s this?” Sen asked. “This is the Secret Peach Tree Room.” Stephanie announced proudly. “Why is it called the Secret Peach Tree Room?” Sen asked curiously. “Because it has a peach tree.” Stephanie said matter-of-factly. “Why is it a secret?” Sen asked, loosing her patience. “Because it has a peach tree.” Stephanie repeated. Sen looked around the room, but she didn’t see anything. “There isn’t a peach tree here.”

Stephanie laughed, “Oh yeah, I forgot.” She looked towards the middle of the room. Sen followed her gaze and suddenly, a giant peach tree slowly appeared out of thin air. “Holy crap!” Sen cried in shock. Stephanie giggled, “I forgot that I put an invisible barrier around the tree so that no one would know that it was there.” Sen gave her a skeptical look, “Why would you do that?”

“Because it’s a secret peach tree.” Stephanie said, as if it should be obvious to everyone. Sen blinked, “Why did you put a secret peach tree in this room?” Stephanie sighed, “Because then I wouldn’t be able to call it the Secret Peach Tree Room, now could I?” There was a very long silence as Sen and Stephanie stared at each other.

“Never mind,” Sen said, “What is this so called plan of yours?” Stephanie tilted her head, “What?” Sen blinked, “Your plan. You said you would tell me your plan once we got in this stupid Secret Peach Tree Room.” Stephanie looked at Mittens in confusion and read his mind. Something about a secret document or something.

“Oh that’s right!” Stephanie cried, “I forgot about that…” She chuckled to herself for a moment. “Ok, here’s the plan: We’re going to infiltrate a laboratory so I can find a secret document that is necessary for my plans.” Sen gave Stephanie a curious look, “What plans?”

“Quiet you!” Stephanie commanded sharply. She cleared her throat, “As I was saying… The witch that is in charge of this laboratory—” Sen cut her off, “You never said that there’s a witch there!” Stephanie shot her an impatient look, “I just did. Now let me finish or I’ll feed you to Mittens.” As soon as she said that, Mittens appeared behind Sen and bent his head down to smell her hair. Sen shivered, “Stop that!” She whipped around and Mittens titled his head innocently. “Don’t act so sweet!” Sen yelled, “You’re just as evil as her!” She pointed a finger at Stephanie.

Stephanie shrugged, “I am pretty evil, but we didn’t come to the Secret Peach Tree Room to discuss how awesome I am.” Sen’s thoughts went through Stephanie’s mind. I never said that you’re awesome…

“Let’s move on.” Stephanie said, completely ignoring Sen’s thoughts. Stephanie took out a map and opened it so the three of them could see. “We’re right here,” Stephanie pointed to a crudely drawn castle on top of a mountain. “Did you draw this yourself?” Sen asked. Stephanie nodded, “Yep. Am I good at drawing or what?” Sen examined the map closer, “It looks like you drew it in crayon… and mostly yellow too.” Stephanie laughed to herself, “Well, I started drawing a unicorn, and I kinda got sidetracked and drew this instead.” And sure enough, there was a half drawn unicorn in the corner of the map.

Sen frowned at the map. How old is this witch anyway? She acts like a little kid. Stephanie ignored her thoughts again, mostly because she wasn’t listening. “The witch’s lab is over here.” She pointed toward a crudely drawn house. “That’s supposed to be a lab?” Sen asked. “Shut up,” Stephanie shot at her, “Anyway… When we get there, Mittens will drop you off at the entrance and you go find the witch and kill her.” Sen gave Stephanie a skeptical look, “Why do I have to do it? Why am I even here? Your powers should be plenty for this stupid mission.”

Why do you even need me? Her thoughts echoed in Stephanie’s strange mind. “My powers won’t work on the witch.” Stephanie said. Sen opened her eyes wide in shock, “What?”

“I can’t use my hypnosis on witches, and I can’t read their minds. I can’t use any of my awesome psychic powers on them. Why do you think I need minions? For companionship? F**k no!” Sen finally realized why Stephanie made her join her. She needs her in order to destroy the witch. Sen stared at Stephanie intensely, “I’m not going to be one of your pawns. I won’t die for your sake.”

“But aren’t you a Purifier?” Stephanie asked with a smug grin. This made Sen freeze. “You hunt witches anyway, so it works out for both of us.” Sen stared at Stephanie. What’s your plan? What is that secret document that you want so bad? Stephanie gave her a devious grin, “That’s a secret… even more of a secret that the peach tree.” She gestured towards the f*****g awesome peach tree in the middle of the room.

Sen sighed, “Fine. I’ll go along with your stupid plan, but only because it’s my duty as a Purifier to destroy wicked witches… especially witches like you.” She pointed her finger at Stephanie, who was humming to herself absent mindedly. “I’m sorry,” She said, “Were you talking to me?” Sen gave her a flat look, “Whatever, let’s just go already.”

“Yah!” Stephanie cried excitedly and ran out of the room, “Come on guys! Let’s go!” Sen turned toward Mittens, “Is she always like this?” Mittens gave her an ambiguous dragon smile and followed after Stephanie. “What am I doing here?” Sen asked herself and lazily walked after them. Before she left the room she glanced back at the peach tree. “Stupid secret peach tree.” She whispered under her breath.
