Time's FarewellA Poem by NikoleanFarewell to our youthTime. What is it really? Is it really just a ticking of a clock, an indication of the day? Is it really just a reminder, something to be taken for granted? Does it move ever too quickly, or too slowly? What is time? Is it a sound telling us when to start, when to end? No. Time is all of these, but none of these all at once. Time is ever changing, it moves, breathes, flows like the wind. Time is a boat, taking us in for a ride, floating on, ever slowly, on the water called life. Time is a conductor of music, telling us when to start, when to end, when to move more quickly, when to start again. Time brings change. It shows us, ever so slowly, how to live life, how quickly to move, how much we change over such a short period of it. So what is time? It is all, but also none of these, all at once.As our year ends, we think- will we ever see these people again? Will these friends we have made remember us as time passes? Time flew by quickly- not letting us pause to think and remember our final year. Time passed by quickly- creating short but powerful memories that have shaped us to be. It's now year end and look where we are. We have made new friendships, got into trouble with our friends- made a difference in lives. Time bids us farewell, yet opens new doors. So as you close the doors of the school- think of it as opening a new chapter- a new chapter time provided for us. Yet as you leave, remember. Remember those small moments you spent with teachers, friends, and think how much this year really meant for you. Bid farewell to this chapter of our youth and open a new book to our future.
