Springing Hatred

Springing Hatred

A Poem by Nikolean

I feel it late,
to notice these growing feelings of hate.

Why can't I make
this growing hatred of you seem fake?

All the time we had spent together,
seems to fly out the window, light as a feather!

Now I can't help but feel disdain,
and I cannot manage to refrain.

I love you so much,
yet that much is enough to hate you as such.

I must be now the worst,
to allow my feelings for you become reversed.

Help me please, I beg,
take this growing burden off my leg
and leave, leave me here to burn to dust,
as I realise my feelings for you start to rust.

Please, before I hurt you more,
I'll slam right closed, this sacred door.

Author's Note

Nikolean
Sorry everyone. I know I'm terrible at rhyming! I wanted to try it a little. Out of all poetry, to be honest, my weaknesses are in rhyming and acrosticism. Please excuse my naivete, but also I welcome all reviews.

The rhyming is not at all terrible. I love how you put your complex emotions into this simple scheme! In all earnesty, aabb might be the most basic of them all, but, it really gives a really good effect to the reader. Somehow it makes the message of the poem easier to comprehend for the reader. Wonderful Job!
