The Caged Fallen Angel

The Caged Fallen Angel

A Story by Nikita

She lives in a cage and longs to be freed,
Her wings are so cramped but she does not care,
Anger, lies and manipulation are her guides,
The fire in her eyes shines with disgust for all around her,
Gently she calls, whispering to me,
"Set me free I will protect you" she says,

When emotions run free the bars weaken,
I take her hand and fall into darkness,
She looks in the mirror and sees me,
The girl she has trapped behind it,

I lay quietly and wait for her to return,
She takes away the pain, the feelings,
Bids me farewell and when I wake she is gone,
Back to her cage, she has no more need of me,

But I have need for her.
When I look at her she is a glorious angel, there to protect me,
However, my heart knows that she is the darkness that should be kept inside.

An interesting writing of an alterego figure within you, is what I feel from reading this. It is a good job of writing. I am a bit confused whether it be defined as a story or a prose poem, but for this location, it is perhaps a mute point.

Interesting poem, it was very beautiful. I think you mislabeled it as a story though. :P
