I am heartless

Heartless? What does it mean to be heartless? Does it mean not wanting to feel the pain that hides in your heart. To hide behind a mask of a smile. Am I heartless because I hide what I truly feel and pretend to be tough when all I want to do is break down and cry. But I have to stay strong and protect the ones I love. So if im heartless because I pretend to happy and act like I have no problems so the one I love feel stronger, then I will be heartless as long as they can smile, I will smile.
